Appointments

Urgent appointments

If you have a problem which you feel should be dealt with on the same day, please tell the receptionist.

You will then be passed through to the GP or practice nurse who will ask for brief details as to why you think your condition requires an urgent appointment. They will arrange to see you if it is appropriate that day.

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us on 0151 244 3290, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30m

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Home visits

Home visits are made at the discretion of the Clinician.

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.

If you request a home visit you will be passed to the Clinician who will ask for details as to why your condition requires a visit. They may decide it is more appropriate for you to be seen at the surgery.

As you will appreciate, a visit to a patients home takes the doctor some time. We hope, in discussion with the patient or carer, to agree the most appropriate time and place for the patient to be seen.

If the patient has a temperature or rash, coming to the surgery will usually do no harm or endanger others, but please inform the receptionist on arrival if either or both of these conditions is present.
